The speed cum energy monitoring system is suitable for conventional AC tap changer as well as for three phase locomotives.

The speed cum energy monitoring system has four essential functional components, viz.

  • 1. Pulse Generator (Tachometer)
  • 2. Signal Conditioning Unit (SCU)
  • 3. Recorder and Indicator Unit (Master)
  • 4. Only Indicator Unit (Slave)

Speedometer is a mandatory safety equipment in the driver’s cab of locomotives. The equipment indicates the loco speed, records speed and energy consumed by the locomotive.
